The music of Unclarity of Mind has been created to be listened to as a stand-alone experience.

Unclarity of Mind is also a 30 minute soundtrack for an experimental dance theatre production based on improvised performances, either solo or in a group.

Fragmented and at times minimalist orchestration combines with concrète textures, tones and feedback.

Inspired by movement and ballet, latter day Scott Walker albums and film work, David Lynch's sound design and Mica Levi's scores.

A 48-page booklet explains the concept and contains a series of text and visual prompts for dance improvisation for each track. Every text prompt has its own variants generated by the Oulipian N+7 procedure, in turn expanding the number of improv prompts but also creating a small collection of Joycean poems. Each track also has an accompanying original analogue collage which functions as a visual prompt. A separate chalk artwork print is also included.

The release includes a number of experimental extras (22 mins) found after the curtain call: an N+7 loop-based experiment incorporating 7 seconds of all 13 parts; a composite created from all 13 parts; a fever dream mix, a 'slow dance' drone version; a bonus collage of pre-performance and backstage recordings, plus, a continuous complete performance of Unclarity of Mind.
